Our body changes throughout life: cells die and are renewed. But with each decade they recover worse and worse. After 30 years, a person begins to lose 1-2% of muscle mass per year, even if he leads an active lifestyle. All tissues in the body suffer losses, so signs of aging appear on the skin. We call it aging and we know it cannot be stopped.
External signs of aging appear around the age of 25
Why signs of aging are visible on the skin:
- the fat layer decreases;
- decrease in bone mass;
- connective tissue is destroyed.
Metabolism slows down in the connective tissue. The building materials of our body are produced less and less: proteins (collagen and elastin) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans). Roughly speaking, the aging process lies in the gradual loss of these components. What can we do? Just try to slow down aging. Often even improve the condition of the skin, rejuvenate it with the help of competent care.
How do essential oils for the face work against wrinkles?
In plants, essential oils participate in metabolic processes. The main components of esters - terpenoid and aromatic compounds - very quickly and actively enter into various chemical reactions inside the cells. Active chemical reactions also occur when ether comes into contact with human skin. Phenols, aldehydes, organic acids and alcohols in ether cause skin irritation, and blood flows faster to the place of contact with them. Thanks to this effect, wraps and applications with oil work. The higher the oil concentration and the longer the exposure, the more active the skin reaction.
Essential oils do not contain vitamins. The vitamin is retained either in water or in fat; there is no fat or water in the ester.
Use of face oil for wrinkles
When we need to treat fine lines and wrinkles, the possibilities are endless. Should you choose an anti-aging cream or a light moisturizer? How about a vitamin C serum or acid gel?
Essential oils cannot get rid of wrinkles, but they can help minimize them.
They can also:
- accelerate the production of collagen
- improve skin tone
- to even out the complexion
- reduce inflammation
- increase the turnover of epithelial cells
- protect your skin from the environment
Which face oil to choose for wrinkles instead of cream?
One of the most valuable components of skin oils are lipids (fats). They glue the horn cells (scales) together, creating a protective barrier that traps moisture. It also protects against the penetration of harmful microorganisms.
Applying it to the skin in its pure form seems to us to strengthen this protective barrier, and the skin is saturated with moisture.
But the problem is that no vegetable oil contains the lipid ratio suitable for our dermis. When it is applied to the face, we immediately feel hydrated and comfortable due to the fact that it smooths the horny scales and softens them. It also creates a moisture-retaining film on the surface.
If we continue to apply it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and erode our own lipids. Their ratio will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even drier and flaky.
Therefore, in order to strengthen the lipid layer, it will be much more useful to take fats from the inside.
But there is also good news. Thanks to their moisturizing and emollient properties, vegetable oils are perfect for fighting wrinkles, if you approach them wisely.
In combination with other components, they have a beneficial effect on the skin and smooth out fine lines. Therefore, it is even recommended to use them in various mask recipes.
But so that the skin does not get used to it, the recipes need to be constantly changed. But more on that below. For the above reasons, it is not recommended to use it regularly in its pure form, so replacing it with a daily care instead of a cream will not work, as it can cause serious damage.
For wrinkles, for the purpose of additional moisturizing and softening, it is used in its pure form only in emergency cases for 1-2 weeks. This must be done in accordance with the following rules:
- Before application, the face must be wet;
- number of drops according to skin type: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2;
- after 15-20 minutes, wipe the lid with a towel to remove the excess;
- after use, be sure to apply a moisturizing cream;
- Apply the oil to the eye area two hours before going to bed to avoid severe swelling.
An effective and safer option for using anti-wrinkle oils is to add a small amount of drops to various masks, the recipes of which are listed below. In combination with other components for 20-30 minutes, such compositions will bring only benefits, provided they are correctly selected (more on this later).
Anti-aging can be done 2-3 times a week. At the same time, so that the skin does not get used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.
Which oil is right for you

How to properly apply oil on the face: 3 ways
It can be applied in three ways:
In its pure form as whey (occasionally)
It must be warmed to a warm state before use, as it is more effective when warm. To do this, just hold a few drops (dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2) on a warm palm for a few seconds and you can apply them with your fingers by tapping, always on cleansed and damp skin. Leave for 15-20 minutes, then wipe with a tissue to remove residue. Be sure to apply moisturizer.
But remember that this method should only be used in emergencies for 1-2 weeks.
Compresses under the eyes
Heat some oil until it's hot by submerging the bottle in warm water. Then moisten two cotton pads and apply to the area under the eyes. Leave for 15 minutes, then wipe with a tissue.
This should be done no later than two hours before going to bed, and also during 1-2 weeks.
